I've always liked workwear, especially since there's no way that I can fit into clothing made for dudes who do not lift. I was looking for a short-waisted jacket to wear when going to the gym (the lockers are small) or going out in cold weather, something that I don't have to treat in a gingerly manner. This jacket fits the bill with its armor-like duck exterior, insulated quilt lining, and enough room in the shoulders for a thermal hoodie. The gussets allow room for maneuvering, and one can grab the overhead horizontal bar on a bus or subway without the hem rising up. The short waist allows access to your pants pockets when you are fishing for your keys. Just buy 1 size smaller and you are ready to go. The waist tabs are really useful if you have an above-average chest-waist differential (46" x 35"). This will last me many years. Goes well with denim jeans and black work shoes or boots. Looking forward to the coming winter. The only tweak I can think of is a deeper inner pocket for today's larger cell phones. Thanks, Carhartt!!!UPDATE: 11/20/14: We've been having a cold spell in NYC for the past few days. This jacket is very warm when layered with a fleece hoodie. The waist band of the hoodie blocks the wind from blowing through the open space of the hem of the jacket. The jacket's roomy shoulders afforded space for the hoodie.
