I have many of these comforters from the bedspread size to the lap sized ones. They look like they are actual quilts, but are a solid piece of fabric designed to look like a quilt. The bonus of this is there is no top stitching on individual quilt squares to come loose, and no quilt squares that might fray. The backing is a different material from the front, as pictured in the online description and in one of my review pictures. The back and front are stiched together well, so no puckering between the fabric layers are present. Pick the side preferred and either can be used face up, as there is no obvious correct back and front to these.I use these comforters for the back of the sofa, on ottomans, as well as on beds as shams, spreads, or blankets. I even revamped a pillow sham as a chair cushion/pillow.I have cats who love sleeping on them. My one cat is a "kneader" and after lots of kitty " biscuit making" the comforters hold up well.They are of a medium weight and provide a double layer of warmth. The fabric doesn't pill up or wrinkle easily. The initial stiffness goes away quickly to become soft and comfortable. They wash and dry easily and well. The ONLY slight negative is there is some fading after washes. I'm okay with this because I purchased the more muted design of Greenland Home Sedona to start with. I also feel the slow fabric fade is reminiscent of an actual handmade quilt as they are 100% cotton. My picture of several of them on my sofa may show the very slight fading on the right 2 items as opposed to the less washed ones on the left.I have seven of these and would continue to buy more if ever needed. Obviously, I am a fan of them after purchasing that many! I suggest placing in your Amazon cart as a save for later and watch for any price breaks on these, as there are often discounts worth waiting for.One more note of possible interest, if you want this comforter to fit like a bedspread and come over the sides of the bed, it's best to size up, if possible. I understand if you have a king sized bed it's not possible to do this. The measurements listed were accurate for my purchases.Bottom line, great buy for me and the comforters suit my needs well.
