I live in the Chicago Southlands. The bottom of the zipper from my old winter coat finally got to the point where as soon as I zipped it and bent over, it unzipped from the bottom, and that just wasn't going to work for shoveling and taking the dog out, etc. I am a big girl, and trying on coats, especially during a pandemic, is not something I looked forward to, so to the Internet I went. I was looking for a coat that was nice and roomy, but not heavy or bulky, nor pricey, and had good overall reviews. I kept coming back to this one after days of research and I am glad I did. Now, I did measure and ordered based off of the size chart (my old coat is a 3x, this one is a 4x). This coat is so roomy that on the coldest days, like today - below zero before wind chill, I wear it over a hoody and my old winter coat and I can still move very easily. And I was not cold at all. I have worn it on it's own on sunny days in the 30s and stayed warm. I have layered it over a shirt and hoody on windy days and I don't feel the wind. I have worn it in mixed precipitation and stayed dry. It is a good coat for my needs. Now I would not recommend this for anyone who has to stand outside, like waiting for a bus, or to go sledding or whatever else you need to do for a long time outside, unless you are wearing layers underneath, because it is not a super-warm coat. But if you are looking for a nice coat to get the job done, this is it. I can also add that it does make me hot in the car, and that is probably due it trapping body heat because of its water resistance. I have only had it for a few weeks, so I haven't used it without the quilted lining yet. I would definitely order this coat again, and I do want to order a 3x to wear to work or shopping, and use the 4x for the outdoor activities.Fits perfectly. Light weight. Very comfortable. Well made. Very happy with this jacket.I would definitely recommend sizing up on this product, as I am forced to to unzip it before I sit down and there’s not much room for big sweaters underneath. I love that the fur is removable and that there are buttons and a zipper. I use it as a fall coat/raincoat and it works alright. The “quilting” being able to come out is a plus, especially if I want to use it for summer rain, but I’m not sure how much it adds to the warmth of the coat. Really, it’s not the warmest coat. I might not wear it below 50 F or so unless you have something underneath like a sweater. So hard to find a winter jacket that doesn't have a fleece lining. If you live in a cold climate - I do - you know it's impossible to gracefully get a fleece lined jacket over a sweater. Here the fleece is covered by a satin like lining so the jacket slides on smoothly.Loved the color! Light weight yet warmI tried on the large and medium of this style. The medium fits like a size 14 and the large fits like a size 18. The large sleeves were very long and the shoulders very wide. The medium arms were much shorter and the jacket much narrower. The fit is boxy, sort of roomy down the middle and narrow in the hips. Also, the jacket would look better if an inch or two longer. I did not like the green color. It is sort of a sickly leaf green, not attractive. I guess my size is about a 16, so neither size option fit me well.It was extremely comfortable and kept me warm without feeling like a heavy coat. It was also compactable during travel. The green color was a plus. This is a work jacket for east coast winter. Warm, comfy, a little bit big but I’m not in a fashion show. Sleeves could be longer so I ordered longer gloves and I’m set!! Layers can be added as needed. Came promptly as ordered, soft packaging that I can recycle perhaps. Wanted to order another in blue but sold out. My loss! Great buy.
